Senior First Aid (Level 2) Course Outline
Course Aim
To provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge in order to recognize and provide immediate first aid for a range of common illnesses and injuries.
Course Objective
This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organizations, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform First Aid.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age of 14 years is recommended.
Learning Outcomes
- Define the principles of first aid.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic human anatomy.
- Demonstrate the examination of both a conscious, and an unconscious, casualty.
- Demonstrate the performance of effective CPR and expired air resuscitation.
- Identify a range of common illnesses and injuries.
- Demonstrate knowledge of first aid management for a range of common illnesses and injuries.
Duration
- 16 hours. Also available in Mixed Mode delivery.

- Competency based
Certification Validity
- Three years. Annual refresher recommended.
