Advanced First Aid (Level 3) Course Outline
Course Aim
To provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge in order to recognise and provide immediate first aid for a range of common illnesses and injuries, in both common and other more complicated situations.
Course Objective
This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organisations, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform First Aid.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age of 14 years is recommended
Learning Outcomes
- Define the principles of first aid.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic human anatomy.
- Demonstrate casualty examination using advanced first aid assessment techniques.
- Demonstrate the performance of effective CPR and expired air resuscitation.
- Identify, and provide first aid management for, a range of common illnesses and injuries.
- Identify, and provide first aid management for, other less common but more complicated first aid situations.

- 32 hours.

Certification Validity
- Three years. Annual refreshers recommended.
