First Aid Care for Children (Level 1)
Course Aim
To provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge in order to recognize and provide immediate first aid for a range of common illnesses and injuries.
Course Objective
This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organizations involved in the childcare industry, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform First Aid Care for Children.
Prerequisites
- Minimum age of 16 years is recommended
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of first aid.
- Demonstrate the performance of effective CPR and expired air resuscitation.
- Identify a range of common illnesses and injuries.
- Identify a range of specific childhood illnesses and conditions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of first aid management for a range of common illnesses and injuries.

- 8 hours.

Certification Validity
- Three years. Annual refreshers recommended.
