CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Course Outline
Course Aim
To provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge in order to identify the need for, and effectively perform, CPR.
Course Objective
This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organizations, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform CPR.
Pre-requisites
- Minimum age of 14 years is recommended
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of first aid
- Identify, avoid or manage personal hazards
- State the three indications of cardiac arrest
- Define; consciousness; unconsciousness; airway obstruction, respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest
- Demonstrate competence in management of an unconscious casualty
- Recognize when it is appropriate to initiate EAR/CPR
- Demonstrate competence in performance of EAR/CPR
Duration
- Two delivery options
- 4 hours – face-to-face instruction or
- 2 hours – mixed mode delivery
- Self paced offsite learning (online or workbook)
- 2 hours - face-to-face instruction
