Advanced First Aid (Level 3) Refresher
Course Outline
Course Aim
To provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge in order to recognize and provide immediate first aid for a range of common illnesses and injuries, in both common and other more complicated situations.
Course Objective
This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organizations, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform First Aid.
Prerequisites
- Current AFA Certificate
- Minimum age of 14 years is recommended
Learning Outcomes
- Define the principles of first aid.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic human anatomy.
- Demonstrate casualty examination using more advanced first aid assessment techniques.
- Demonstrate performance of effective CPR and expired air resuscitation.
- Identify, and provide first aid management for, specific illnesses and injuries.
- Identify, and provide first aid management for, specific first aid situations using advanced techniques.

- 8 hours.

- Competency based
Certification Validity
- Three years. Annual refresher recommended.
